Q-01 How do I find out more about the intellectual properties available for use?

Patents belonging to the University can be reviewed on the online list of patents. In addition, the Keio Innovation Network continuously transmits information about the research findings of the University on a monthly basis. Please feel free to join the network.


Q-02 Does the Section for Intellectual Property disclose information on not-yet-public patents?

The Section for Intellectual Property discloses information on not-yet-public patents after a confidentiality agreement has been signed with the third-party. Please contact the Section for Intellectual Property for further details. In general, there is no fee associated with the disclosure of such information.


Q-03 I would like to form a licensing agreement with the University. What is the process?

Please contact the Section for Intellectual Property for details. You can refer to the technology transfer activities page on this website for information up to the actual licensing of the patent.

Q-04 How are the licensing fees decided upon?

The fees depend on the intellectual property that is being licensed. The licensing fee rate and payment methods are discussed by the Section for Intellectual Property on an individual basis.


Q-05 I would like to provide research-funding support. How should I go about doing this?

Please contact the Office of Research Administration or the Section for Research Promotion for each Keio University campus. The Section for Intellectual Property will provide support from the standpoint of handling intellectual property rights associated with the research findings.
